"I will not fall prey to the spirit of the age.
I will dive deep into the oldest waters,
where the light is so ancient
it taught songs to the gods."
Steve Von Till
This chapter begins radical severance from current events;
a rekindled focus on alchemical thinking, learning, and creating.

A husk of what was, but we've done what we must.
Light shrouded; life frozen; gold traded for lead.
Feuds without honor for living or dead.
Now half of the truth will never be known;
and only deep
roots are ever regrown.

Yet there is, most certain, such hope to be found:
escape from the sorcerer's clutch underground.
Mysteries unfold, dear Magi, dear friends,
in jungles, on summits, the deep, before it ends.
There is yet a chance for us all to make amends.

Seek the ruins of our ancestors;
Save their heritage for your ilk.
Hemp, linen, wool, denim, wood, stone, and silk.
Roman mortar. Pyramids.
Old men and women who look like your kids.

Earth is inherited by only the meek.
Remember your languages are young and weak.
Know the God with whom you speak.

Know the teachings your people keep.
Sow and make most of what you reap.

"Be not conformed to
the failing of the world,
but be transformed
by the renewal of your mind."
Romans 12:2
